Our Story

As with many technology startups, Teal was born out of necessity, with its roots stemming from our Co-Founders' multi-decades experience as sustainability advisors and practitioners. After years of painstaking work, they began to see patterns amongst various sustainability management use-cases. This led to the development of an in-house back-office workflow solution which standardized and automated particular pieces of the mosaic that went into the formation, launch, and integration of corporate sustainability programs. That software solution became the genesis of what is today, Teal.

Paula Ivey

Founder & Chairwoman

Paula is a pioneer and recognized leader in sustainability with nearly three decades of experience as an executive, academic, impact entrepreneur and advisor to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to founding Teal Corporation, she was the founder and CEO of The CSR Group LLC, a leading ESG advisory firm. Previously, she served as the Director of CSR, Compliance, and Ethics at Compaq Computer/HP, and has taught sustainability as a professor of practice at three top tier business schools. Paula is a trusted industry speaker with more than 100 engagements & interviews at global conferences, symposiums and leading global media outlets.

Louise Raymond

Co-Founder & Director

Louise has nearly 25 years' experience in leading, designing and managing ESG at Fortune 500 companies including in her former role as head of Sustainability at S&P Global where she created the company’s first ESG corporate program, department and strategy. She was also President of the S&P Global Foundation. Prior to co-founding Teal, she was the Founder & CEO at LRaymond Advisors, an independent consultancy specializing in corporate responsibility and sustainability strategy in the public, private and NGO sectors.

Vijay Sudan

Chief Operating Officer

Vijay Sudan is a seasoned executive with experience leading
global environmental sustainability strategy for three different Fortune 100 companies. Most recently, Vijay served as Executive Director, Social Responsibility at The Walt Disney Company, overseeing the company’s global climate initiatives. Previously, Vijay served as Vice President of Social Impact at 21st Century Fox and led News Corp to become the first carbon neutral global media company in 2010. Vijay started his career at Bain & Co. where he advised Fortune 100 companies on M&A, process improvement, and supply chain strategy. His clients included companies in defense, consumer goods, retail, biotechnology, and private equity.

Orion Jensen

Chief Technology Officer

Orion has more than two decades' expertise in leading software development and architecture, as well as overall technology strategy, for both public and private clients. He is also a well-established serial entrepreneur in the technology space, with three successful startups to his credit. Prior to his entrepreneurial efforts, Orion held various IT leadership positions at several high-growth, venture-backed technology startups, including Build-A-Sign and Solar Winds.

He co-founded GreenBiz Group and advises companies on aligning sustainability with business success. Joel is also Strategy Director at the Music Sustainability Alliance, a skilled speaker, and author of numerous books including "The New Grand Strategy." Recognized as a leading expert, he influences businesses worldwide toward profitable sustainability practices.

Travis Miller

Travis Miller is the Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel at Source Intelligence. He brings more than twenty years of expertise in compliance, sustainability, and legal risk. Previously, Travis served as Google’s Head of Supply Chain Compliance and is a frequent public speaker, recognized as one of the foremost experts focused on international trade, supply chain compliance, and ESG risk mitigation.

RoseAnne Franco

RoseAnne Franco is a sustainability leader and strategist with 20+ years of experience at the intersection of energy and technology. Most recently, she was Global Director of Sustainability Solutions at Salesforce where she helped companies incorporate technology into their sustainability journey. Previously, she was a Partner in the Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change practice at global consultancy, ERM. She advised C-suite and board leaders on sustainability strategy, ESG data readiness and operationalization of climate commitments, among other areas. She frequently speaks on sustainability and how technology can help accelerate the energy transition.
